Dr. Gangadhar Adhikari is one of the energetic, vibrant and young member of CIEDP. He was nominated as member of CIEDP on 9th Magh 2076 BS (23rd Jan 2020 AD). He is not only a member of CIEDP but also a renowned human right activist, journalist, social worker, lecturer, writer and legal adviser.
Dr. Adhikari, born in 1979 AD in Baglung, is a renowned Democratic Movement and Human Right Activist. He was regularly involved in non-violence movement for human right protection, democracy, peace and press freedom and frequently arrested. He has been engaged in human right activity for more than 20 years. He had served as Central Chairperson of Human Rights and Peace Society from 2071-2075 BS and as Central Adviser from 2075-2076 BS. He had been the Editor in Chief in Peace Journal Human Right and Peace Society since 2069-2075 BS. He had also worked in the same post for Bhawak Kalam, Yuba Darpan, Baglung Mahotsab Special and many more in different periods. His dedication on fundamental freedom, human right and social justice has contributed a lot to nepali society.
Dr. Adhikari had also been as an Adviser in SHAN, Australia from 2067 to 2076BS. He is the founder chairman of Cambridge International College, United Scholars Academy, Pratibha Sangam Nepal, Bhawak Abhiyan, Smriti publication, Youth Movement for Democratic Culture and many other organizations. He had lectured in different colleges and universities including Tri-Chandra Campus, Ghantaghar.
Dr. Adhikari is equally active in Nepali literature and research too. He wrote several articles, criticisms and literary works reflecting the then socio-political scenario. His literary work Kaidi Rahar ra Mrita Sapanaharu (imprisoned will and dead dreams) was published in 2066 BS and research work Nepali Sahityama Dhaualagiri Sahitya Pratisthanko Yogdan (Contribution of Dhaulagiri Literature Academy to Nepali Literature) in 2073 BS. Other works such as Kehi sandarv, Kehi bishleshan, Jeevanka Pathshala Bhitra, Nepalma Manab Adhikar Kanun, Maato are in pipeline. As a tribute to his creations and criticisms in Nepali literature he was rewared with dozens of awards including Kaji Roshan National Literary Award-2070.
Dr. Adhikari holds degree in three different disciplines, Nepali, Sociology and Political Science from Tribhuwan University and doctorate in Nepali from Nepal Sanskrit University. He has also completed bachelor level in Law and served different private and public company as a legal adviser.
Dr. Adhikari has visited more than 10 countries abroad and more than 70 districts in Nepal for interaction progamme on democracy and human right.
